Twilight: The first film of the book series that is about a family of vampires. This film will supposedly be the first of a new franchise that will mainly appeal to the teenage crowd.

Tommy Lasorda might be getting his own life story put on the big screen. Variety reports that Al Pacino is interested in playing the famed Dodger pitcher and manager with the possibility of Michelle Pfeifer playing his wife.

Ryan Gosling is currently being courted for the part of Hal Jordan aka the Green Lantern. Latino Review reported that Gosling's name is the main choice but that David Boreanez, Seth Green, and Justin Long have also been mentioned to play the famed hero.

Pirates of the Caribean 4 buzz is already starting and this time it involves the possibility of Jack Sparrow's brother coming into the mix and will possibly be played by either Sacha Baron Cohen or Russell Brand. It is also reported that Tim Burton might be taking over the director's chair since Gore Verbinski is off directing the big screen version of the popular video game "Bioshock".

Paul Newman passes away at the age of 85. The iconic American actor who was best know for playing roles on films such as Cool Hand Luke, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid recently passed after a long bout with lung cancer. During his lifetime, Newman won several Oscars as well as numerous nominations and awards for his acting. In addition to his career as an actor he was also a prolific businessman and philanthropist who has done work for several charities.

Dark Knight: DVD details: The December 9th release will come in single-disc DVD, double-disc DVD and Blu-ray editions. Director Christopher Nolan has confirmed that on the Blu-ray release, the film will swap between a 2.40:1 aspect ratio for scenes shot on 35mm and full sized widescreen 1.78:1 for the IMAX scenes (IMAX is shot in 1.66:1 so a little bit of the top and bottom of the IMAX image will be lost).

Riddick: Vin Diesel promises that the remaining two Chronicle of Riddick films will be completed While the Chronicles of Riddick was not well received in theaters, it has gained an unexpected popularity after released on DVD. MTV reports that Vin Diesel sees the Riddick films as a Lord of the Rings type trilogy and forsees the film franchise being completed although it has been five years since chronicle's release. Monster Attack: Disney is planning a film adaptation of Marc Bernardin and Adam Freeman's graphic novel "Monster Attack Network" reports the trades. The adventure tale is set on the picture-perfect Pacific island of Lapuatu, which is populated by giant monsters. There, a team of adventurers deal with rampages and related crises and clean up messes afterwards. Reported by DarkHorizons.com

Half Blood Prince: The sixth film in the Harry Potter series has been delayed due to Warner Brothers has changed the date from November 2008 to July 2009 in order to improve box office performance and capitilize on the summer movie season.

Bill Hicks: Russell Crowe is slated to play the famed Bill Hicks in a biopic of the comedian's life who battled with drug and alcohol abuse before dying of prostrate cancer at the age of 32.

Bernie Mac dies at the age of 50.Comic actor died early Saturday of complications from pneumonia, according to a family member and his publicist. He had been hospitalized in Chicago, Illinois, for more than a week with the lung infection. Cnn.com
